Dieting

Dieting is a scary word for most of us. If you are like me over forty and hoping to maintain your girlish figure then let’s look at it together. If just the word diet brings a panic attack to your normal heart rhythm then please read on. I know I need to diet but as soon as I think it I am hungry. I know that in my cupboard I have the finest of dark chocolate with my name all over it. I also know that in my refrigerator I have pudding and Gouda cheese that melts in your mouth. There is also some lovely red wine from France. Knowing all of this how in the world am I going to be able to diet? I guess I will make a plan. But not like the plans I made before that were as unrealistic as was the sky diving classes. No this time no chemicals that will make me hyper and want to kill everyone around me who is skinny no, I will try to figure out why… Why am I in need of a diet? What has happened that I the once skinny girl now have a 2 inch roll around my waist? How in the name of Sam am I going to get in my bathing suit and not scare small children as well as myself? It’s clear I have to have a realistic natural plan. A plan that I can say yes that’s it. A real plan that includes a small piece of chocolate once in a while. Face it be realistic, everyone needs a small piece of chocolate at some point or another. A plan that includes all the things I like to eat but in a more reasonable way. A plan I can stick too. No one knows me as well as I know myself. I don’t need a doctor to tell me I am overweight or that I need a diet. I already know it. The worst problem I have is myself. I see myself in the mirror and I know I need a diet. So now what? Get mad! Get ready to do something about it.

  • Make a realistic plan and promise yourself to stick to it.
  • Don’t call it a diet. Call it a plan.
  • Do allow one piece of chocolate just not the whole box.
  • Do exercise. Move your body; get out from in front of the TV.

Try it you might be surprised. Every person is capable of greatness. Let’s start by be being true to yourself. The first step is yours. What are you waiting for? If you seriously want a change then stand up. Do it. You are capable of handling this plan in a natural way. Be in charge! You can do it!
